What is Psilocybe cyanescens?
Psilocybe cyanescens ('Wavy Caps') is a separate wood-loving species, not a cubensis strain, spreading through the hardwood-mulch trade in the Pacific Northwest, Europe and New Zealand. It is roughly twice as potent as typical cubensis and fruits in cold weather.
Potency — measured vs. reported
Lab-measured: 0.66–1.96% total indoles (N. America).
Reliable lab data exists for only a handful of strains. We separate lab-measured values from community claims and don't inflate — growing conditions affect potency more than the strain name.
